BiographyWilliam Russell was born on 11 November 1740, the son of Thomas Russell and his wife Frances Pougher. He married Martha Twamley (1741-1790) in September 1762. They had at least five children: Martha (1766-1807); Mary (1768-1839); Frances; Thomas Pougher (1775-1851); and JaneTwamley. He died on 26 January 1818.
