William Hazen Rogers

BiographyWilliam Hazen Rogers was born 13 May 1801 in Hartford, Connecticut. He married first Parthenia Tyler (d.1831) in 1826 and they had one child, Frances (b.1827-1830). He married second Nancy Wilson (1811-1876). In 1825, he was a partner in Church & Rogers on Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1847, he became senior partner of Rogers Brothers, a reputable Connecticut silverware company he began with his brothers Simeon and Asa. Rogers Brothers was the first to apply electroplating to the manufacture of silverware on a commercial basis.
