BiographyMatthew Marvin was born on 3 January 1764, at "Pimpewaug" Wilton Parrish, Norwalk, Connecticut, the son of Deacon Matthew and Deborah (Burnett) Marvin. He married Nancy St. John Burral (1762-1851) in 1792, widow of Johnathan Burral. He was a very successful merchant who frequently represented Norwalk in the Legislature. He was also a selectman of Wilton, Judge of the Fairfield County Court, and a deacon of the Congregational Church at Wilton.
