William F. Downer

William F. Downer was born in New York on 12 August 1850. He lived most of his life in Hamden, Connecticut, where he owned a farm. He was apparently employed by the United States Coast Survey for a short time when he was a young man. His name appears on a series of maps of the New Haven area. He died in Hamden on 27 November 1923.
