Daniel Loomis Jr.

BiographyDaniel Loomis Jr. was born in Coventry, Connecticut, on 29 March 1765, and was the son of Daniel and Mary (Sprague) Loomis. Daniel Loomis Jr. died on 3 July 1835. According to a published biography of the Loomis family, Daniel and his brother Walter "built the original piers of the first bridge across the Connecticut River at Hartford. They also were the contractors for a part of the old national highway between Cumberland, Maryland, and Wheeling, West Virginia, about 1812."
