BiographyAugust Hoen began working as a lithographer in the shop of his uncle, Edward Weber. About 1848, the firm became August Hoen & Company; Hoen's brother Ernest was one of the partners. From the beginning, the firm specialized in scientifc work and maps. In 1930, the company was incorporated, becoming A. Hoen & Co., Inc.
