BiographyThe Connecticut Development Commission was established in 1939 to promote business, housing, and community development. In 1973, it became the Connecticut Development Authority in the state Department of Commerce; in 1979, it again became a separate agency known as the Department of Economic Development; and in 1995, it became the Department of Economic and Community Development.
