Erastus Worthington

American, 1863 - 1953
BiographyErastus Worthington was born on December 12, 1863 in Dedham, Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and went to work for Percy M. Blake as an assistant engineer in water supply and sewage. In 1890, he went into business on his own, continuing to work on water supply systems for many towns in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and other New England states. He is listed in the 1940 Federal Census, still living in Dedham. He died in Dedham in 1853. Erastus Worthington's great grandfather came from Colchester, Connecticut, and his family evidently maintained some connection with relatives there.
