Leslie G. SumnerAmerican, 1891 - 1969
Leslie G. Sumner was born in Hartford in October 1891 and attended Hartford schools. He graduated from Yale in 1915 and joined the Connecticut State Highway Department in 1916 as a draftsman and designer. He designed many highway bridges in Connecticut, including the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown and several bridges on the Merritt Parkway. He died in West Hartford on December 15, 1969.
