Daggett & Ely

BiographyDaggett & Ely was a partnership between Alfred Daggett (1799-1872) and A. Ely. Daggett was a portrait painter and engraver active in New Haven, Connecticut. Following his short-lived partnership with Ely, he was involved in the firm Daggett, Hinman & Co. He was also the uncle and first teacher of the painter John Frederick Kensett.
