Humphrey Phelps

Humphrey Phelps was born in Hebron, Connecticut in 1799. He worked as a publisher of maps, charts, travel guides, and other books in New York City. His business was located in the same building as Kelloggs & Thayer, and he frequently co-published Kellogg prints. When Phelps retired in 1866, he and his wife moved to Hartford, where he died about 1875.
