Joseph Ellicott

Joseph Ellicott was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1760. He was a surveyor, city planner, land agent (for the Holland Land Company in Western New York State), and judge. He assisted his brother Andrew in laying out the city of Washington. He died in New York City on August 19, 1826.
