James Wadsworth
American, 1730 - 1817
BiographyJames Wadsworth was born in the town of Durham about 1730. He graduated from Yale College in 1748 and returned to Durham, where he went into practice as a lawyer. During the American Revolution, he rose to the rank of Major-General, and he also served in the Continental Congress. Following the war, he served as a judge, and as a member of the council. He died on September 22, 1817.
