BiographyMoses Warren, Jr. was born September 5, 1762 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island. After serving in the Continental militia, he settled in Lyme, Connecticut, and began working as a surveyor and mapmaker. In 1796, he was made deputy land surveyor of Connecticut. In 1796 and 1797, he made two surveying trips to the Western Reserve, present-day Ohio, and assisted in laying out the city of Cleveland. Later in life he moved to New London, Connecticut. He died in 1835.
