Samuel J. Rosen

Samuel J. Rudek (later Samuel J. Rosen) was a Russian-Jewish immigrant. He was born in Russia, then immigrated to New Jersey, and moved to Hartford in the late 1910s.

He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Mexican Border War and World War 1. He was wounded in combat.

He served as a deputy sheriff in Hartford County for twelve years.

He married Ida Sack Rosen, and they had three children: Bernard H. Rosen, Charles Rosen, and Mrs. Paul Gartner.
