Jared B. Standish

BiographyJared Butler Standish was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut on 4 September 1866. He was apprenticed to Albert Mugford in Hartford, where he learned the trade of wood engraver, which he practiced for many years. In 1902 he established the Hartford Engraving Company, which was still in business at the time of his death. He was active in the Wethersfield Village Improvement Society and wrote many pamphlets and articles on local history. He died in Hartford on 19 May 1961.
