Fannie Ione Miller

BiographyFannie Oiona Miller was the daughter of Elbert Miller (20 May 1818-1899) and Rachel M. Coe Miller (28 July 1821-1899). Her father was a direct descendant of Thomas Miller, one of the first settlers of Middletown. Fannie Miller had two sisters, Lucina Coe Miller (1850-1947) and Imogene Miller. As a young woman, Fannie lived in the Miller family home, which still stands, across the street from Peckham Field (named for the family of Fannie's future husband). Fannie was a gifted artist, as was her younger sister Lucina.

Fannie married Samuel H. Peckham on 27 June 1867. They had two sons, Delano Peckham and Millard Elbert Peckham. Fannie and Sam Peckham built a home across the brook from the Miller family home. Her husband ran a very successful blacksmith's shop, and they also had a farm.
