BiographyPeter Van Cortlandt Stougton was a doctor who served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He graduated from the Marine Corps Officer's School in Quantico, Virginia, then served for three years in the Pacific Theatre as a captain. Captain Stoughton was involved in the invations of Saipan and Tinian, and he spent time in rest camps on Hawaii and Guam. Captain Stoughton had at least one son, Peter V. Stoughton, II.
