BiographyEdward Goodell was born on 9 April 1809, the son of Hartley Goodell and Abigail (Gleason) Goodell. He married Abigail Pain, the daughter of Benjamin and Phebe Pain, of Rhode Island. Edward is listed in the 1860 Federal Census as being a Mason, and living with his parents. In the 1870 Federal Census he is listed as being a Stone Mason.
