BiographyMavis French was born in Bristol, Connecticut in 1926, the daughter of Calvin W. French and Sarah Matthews. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Bristol, Connecticut. Mavis grew up in Bristol, Connecticut and attended the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated in 1946 and worked as a nurse in Hartford and Bristol, Connecticut. She married William S. Davis on January 17, 1948 in the Methodist Church in Bristol, Connecticut. They had one son, James B. Davis.
