American, 1891 - 1962
BiographyDaniel Joseph Broderick was born in 1891 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and was a long time resident of Windsor, Connecticut. He worked in a variety of roles over the course of his life. On his WWI draft card and in the 1920 Federal Census he is described as a cigar maker. In both the 1930 and 1940 census he is listed as a photographer with his own business, but in 1942 he was employed by the Colt Patent Fire-Arms Company. By 1950 he had become a private investigator and according to his obituary Broderick worked for the Pinkerton Detective Agency until about 1959. He was active with the Hartford County Camera Club in the 1930s and frequently exhibited his photographs. The Connecticut Historical Society has a large collection of his work.

Daniel J. Broderick married Hazel (Blanche?) Norris. They had one son, Daniel H. (b 1917), and one daughter, Hazel Mae (b 1918).
