BiographyAaron Cossitt Goodman was born on 23 April 1822, the son of Aaron Goodman and Alma Cossitt. He married Annie M. Johnson (1835-1920) of New York on 9 April 1857. He was a book publisher and a merchant in Hartford, Connecticut. He moved to New York City where he continued in business until he returned to Hartford, Connecticut in 1873. He was president of the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Co. They had five children: Emeline (b. 1858); Edward (1861-1872); Annie (b. 1862); Mary Alma (b. 1873); and Richard Johnson (b. 1875). He died on 29 July 1899.
