BiographyOliver R. Post was born about 1834, probably the son of Ambrons W. Post and Bulah Post. Post was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant on 8 September 1862 in the 20th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Regiment, when he was then residing in Hartford. He initially served as a Lieutenant in Company C, until being promoted to Captain of Company D on 24 February 1863. Captain Post was wounded on 20July 1864 at Peach Tree Creek in Georgia, and died from his wounds the following day, 21 July 1864.
