Isaac Almarin Allen Jr.American, 1859 - 1953

Isaac Almarin Allen was born in Enfield, Connecticut in 1859. He worked as a carpenter, before becoming a draughtsman in the office of David R. Brown, New Haven, about 1884. He was supervising architect for Frederick S. Newman of Springfield, Massachusetts for construction of the Linden Apartment House in Hartford in 1892. In 1896, he opened his own office in Hartford, Connecticut and practiced for 57 years. He worked in a variety of styles and building types, including several prominent commercial, ecclesiastical, and institutional buildings.
