BiographyElisabeth "Liz" Petry (28 Jan. 1949 - 22 Feb. 2023) was born in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She was the only child of George D. Petry and Ann (Lane) Petry. She married Lawrence Riley.
She attended Vassar College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She worked as an attorney in Pennsylvania before moving back to Connecticut. She worked as a journalist for more than fifteen years with the Middletown Press, Meriden Record Journal, and the Hartford Courant.
