Elizabeth Craft

American, 1746 - 1839
BiographyElizabeth Craft (or Crafts) was born in 1746. She grew up in "the old Crafts house" in Roxbury, Massachusetts, but later lived in Brookline, Massachusetts. She took a great interest in reading, although a girl's opportunities for education were limited when she was growing up. In 1767, she married Caleb White, but he died in 1870, only a few years after they were married. Elizabeth Craft White never remarried. She was loved and respected by many, who came to call her "Aunt White". Elizabeth Craft White died in 1839.
