James McBey

BiographyJames McBey was born in Newburgh, Scotland on 23 December 1883. Self-taught as an etcher, he specialized in European landscape prints and architectural subjects. He served as an official war artist during World War I. In 1931, he married Marguerite Loeb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in 1942, he became an American citizen. He died on 1 December 1959 in Tangier, Morocco.
