Eveline Frances NicholsAmerican, 1830 - 1884

Eveline Frances Nichols (1830-1884) was baptized 21 November 1830 in the Norfield Congregational Church in Weston. She was the daughter of Ward Nichols (1793-1884) and Sally Hickok (b. 1767). On 14 February 1853, she married Willis S. Burr of Bethel, Connecticut. She died on 24 January 1884.

Eveline's father, Ward Nichols, worked in the hat factories in Bethel as a child. He later moved to Weston to continue the hatmaking business and to establish a large farm. The Nichols family lived at 183 Good Hill Road in Weston, Connecticut; this home is now listed on the State Register of Historic Places. Eveline's husband, Willis S. Burr, and at least two of their children later worked in the hat making factories in Bethel, Connecticut.
