BiographyDorothy V. Brosmith of Hartford, Connecticut was the daughter of William Brosmith, General Counsel for the Travelers Insurance Company. Her family was prominent in Hartford's Catholic circle. She attended the Mount - (St. Joseph's Academy for Girls), and in 1911, she graduated summa cum laude from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York.
Dorothy married William J. McEvoy (d. 1950) on 8 February 1915 at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Hartford. William had been a classmate of Allen Brosmith at Hartford High School, and he may have been the son of the former Commissioner of Water Works. Dorothy and William had six children and 22 grandchildren. Dorothy Brosmith McEvoy died in Bayside, New York on 29 March 1971.
