Samuel Churchill

American, 1757 - 1834

BiographySamuel Churchill was born 5 April 1757 in Newington, Connecticut. He was the son of Lydia Belden Churchill (1730-1805) and Captain Charles Churchill (1723-1802), the fifth of their eight children. Samuel Churchill was a farmer, and he lived across the road from his father's home in a home his father built for him. He married Mercy Boardman (1757-1834) on 16 July 1778; they had ten children. Their children were: Chislieu (b. 1779); Mary Ann (1782-1848); John (1785-1823); Josiah (b. 1787); Charles (b. 1790); Mercy (1792-1866); Samuel (died in infancy 1792); Charlotte (1795-1864); Harriet (1798-1825); and Lucy (1801-1883). Samuel Churchill died in Newington on 10 December 1834.
