Francis C. Moore

BiographyFrancis C. Moore was the daughter of Charlotte and Nelson Moore of Waltham, Massachusetts. She married George A. Fairfield (1834-1908) in Washington D.C. on 3 October 1855. They had at least one son, George Elliot Fairfield (1865-1943). Her husband built the Weed Sewing Machine Company into an important company and later joined with Colonel Pope to manufacture bicycles. He founded the Hartford Machine Screw Company, and served as Director of the Hartford National Bank, Secretary and Treasurer of the Hartford Board of Trade, and Vice-President and Trustee of Mechanics Savings Bank.
