BiographyMary Welles was born 30 March 1735. She was the daughter of Martha Pitkin Welles (1691-1763) and the Honorable Thomas Welles (1692-1767). She married David Hale (1727-1796) in Hartford, Connecticut, on 8 February 1753; they had at least one daughter, Prudence Hale Foote (1762-1819). The Hales moved to Glastonbury, Connecticut. After David Hale died, Mary Welles Hale remained in Glastonbury, living with her husband's relatives. She died 7 June 1814.
