Dr. Ashbel Woodward

BiographyDr. Ashbel Woodward was the great grandfather of Helen Granberry Waterman (Mrs. Edgar Francis Waterman) (1893-1995). He served as a surgeon with the Twenty-Sixth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War, mustering in on 10 November 1862 and mustering out at Norwich, Connecticut on 17 August 1863. He was also an antiquarian and the author of several books on historical subjects.
