Samuel Danforth

Samuel Danforth was born in April 1774 in Middletown. He would have started training in Middletown around 1788 under Joseph Danforth, then Jonathan Danforth, and finally William Danforth. Samuel completed his apprenticeship around 1795 and moved to Hartford. His business grew rapidly, and he specialized in ecclesiastical wares. He had an extensive retail business selling pewter, tinware, ironware, brass and other non-pewter stock. He died in 1816.
