BiographyAsahel Upson was a leader in the separation of a group from the Episcopal Society in 1828 and the organization of The First Society of United Brethren, in the towns of Southington and Cheshire, in the following year. The church was short lived an apparently disbanded about 1833 of soon thereafter.
