American, 1824 - 1835
BiographyHiram and his brother Charles Yale were in partnership from about 1824-1835. Products of this period are marked "H. YALE & CO", "CHARLES YALE", and simpily "YALE". Hiram Yale died in 1831, and his brother moved the factory to the outskirts of Wallingford, an area later renamed Yalesville. Charles Yale died in late 1835, and the factory was taken over by Lorenzo L. Wiliams and Samuel Simpson, two former employees.
