Harriet Upson

BiographyHarriet Upson was born 5 October 1820 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Sarah Harrison (1799-1885) and Hiram Upson (1797-1874). Hiarm Upson was a farmer in the village of Humphreysville, part of the town of Derby, Connecticut (after 1850 part of Seymour). Hiram engaged in the manufacture of bits and augurs. Harriet married Harpin Riggs (1813-1900) on 17 May 1840 in Seymour, Connecticut. They had a son, John Harpin Riggs (1841-1926). Harriet Upson Riggs died on 30 October 1893 in Seymour, Connecticut. She is buried there with her husband.
