BiographyTamer Hawley (Mrs. Isaac Hawley, Jr.) was born in 1767 in Newbury Parish, Brookfield, Connecticut, to unknown parents. She married Colonel Isaac Hawley Jr. (1756-1839); they had four children. Her husband became a prominent citizen of New Milford. He owned over 1,000 acres of land, as well as mill and water privileges. Tamer Hawley died on 3 April 1805 in Brookfield, Connecticut, at age 38. She was the first adult buried in the Old South Cemetery in Brookfield, Connecticut.
