General Nathaniel Terry

BiographyNathaniel Terry was born in Enfield, Connecticut, on 30 January 1768, the son of Abiah Dwight Terry and Nathaniel Terry of Enfield. He graduated from Yale College in 1786. He married Catherine Wadsworth (1774-1841) in Hartford, Connecticut, on 14 March 1798. Nathaniel Terry was a Judge of County Court from 1807-1809 and was a Representative of Hartford for twelve sessions of the Legislature. He was a Member of Congress from 1817-1819, a Member of the Connecticut Constitutional Convention in 1818, and a general of the militia. Nathaniel Terry was the Mayor of Hartford from 1824-1831. He died in New Haven, Connecticut, on 14 June 1844.
