According to sampler 1952.83.0, Lacy Mann was born about 1805; she was a resident of Hartford in 18183 when she created the sampler.

According to Barbour's vital records for Hartford, a Lucy Mann married Samuel M. Day of Northampton, Massachusetts on 14 February 1833. According to a note from the donor of 1952.83.0, "the daughter of Lucy Mann who made the sampler, died some 30 years ago and as far as I know she was the last of her branch of the family."
