BiographyHannah Grant was born in 1748 and baptized 2 July 1749, daughter of Donald, an emigrant from Inverness in Scotland to Newtown, Connecticut, and Arminal (Toucey) Grant. Hannah Grant was a young lady of a large fortune. She married 2 August 1769 to Stephen Mix Mitchell of Wethersfield, Connecticut. The event was commemorated by a poetical Epithalamium, written by John Trumbull. They had 11 children, one of whom was Judge Walter Mitchell. She died 14 February 1830, aged 80.
