George A. Chafee

BiographyGeorge A. Chafee ran a hotel in Middletown, Connecticut, from about 1865-1903. In 1889, he opened "The Chafee House" in the refurbished "old Dr. Baker residence" on Court Street. After George A. Chafee's death in 1903, the business was taken over by his son, Charles A. Chafee. He continued to operate the hotel until 1936.
