BiographyFrank E. Mason was born 2 December 1841 in South Coventry, Connecticut. He was the fifth and youngest child of Julia Brigham Mason of Coventry and Abner Mason of Hanover, New Hampshire. Frank Mason married Mary E. Grant (d. 1917) on 27 January 1864. The service was performed by Nathaniel J. Burton, then of the Fourth Congregational Church.

Frank E. Mason became a bookbinder, starting work with the predecessors of the Case, Lockwood and Brainard Company when he was 17 years old. He spent his entire career of over sixty years with that firm. He was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church and Crescent Lodge, Knights of Pythias, and he was a Sunday school teacher at the state prison for many years. Frank E. Mason died at his home in Hartford, Connecticut, on 6 February 1920.
