Captain John Avery Sr.

Captain John Avery married Anne Stanton. They had at least one son, also named John Avery (1732-1794). Their son was a clockmaker, silversmith, farmer, and public servant; he was a representative to the State Legislature in 1771, a Justice of the Peace in Preston for many years, and a selectman in Preston in 1774 and 1775.
