Christopher LeffingwellAmerican
It is said that as early as 1766 Christopher Leffingwell had built paper and grist mills, a chocolate mill and a pottery in the "Bean Hill" section of Norwich, Connecticut along the Yantic River. Leffingwell ran an earthenware shop in Norwich in partnership with Thomas Williams, and is believed to have manufactured both stoneware and earthenwares. By 1792 Charles Lathrop, Leffingwell's son-in-law, was running the pottery.
