Scammell China Company

In 1923, D. William Scammell purchased the remaining interests in the Maddock Pottery Company and began forming the Scammell China Company for the manufacture of hotel and railroad china. In 1939, a line of fine, thin, translucent china for home use was introduced. The china had a porcelain body with a delicate ivory tone.
