Buffalo Pottery
American, 1901 - 1956
BiographyThe Buffalo Pottery was founded in 1901 by William J. Rea; the first kiln was fired in 1903. Products were completely molded, either by jiggering or casting, and were decorated both underglaze and overglaze. Until around 1916, the company made semi-vitreous ware, and vitrified china after. In 1956, the company name officially changed to the Buffalo China Company. Buffalo China now makes only hotel and institutional wares.
