Podmore, Walker & Co.English, 1834 - 1859

Podmore, Walker & Co. were manufacturers of earthenware in Staffordshire (one of the Staffordshire Potteries) at the following locations: Well Street (1834-1853), Amicable Street (1850-1859), Swan Bank (1853-1859), all located in Tunstall. The company worked with earthenwares and refined their product to a body that they marketed as "Pearl Stone Ware" which was more durable than earthware and would have been fired at a higher temperature.

Enoch Wedgwood became a partner in the original firm in about 1856, and during the period of about 1856 to 1859, the initials P. W. & W. may occur on their ceramics. After 1856, the marks WEDGWOOD and WEDGWOOD & CO. were also used. In 1860, the firm was restyled as Wedgwood & Co, with Enoch Wedgwood a senior partner in the firm.
