BiographyFormerly known as Josiah Wedgwood & Sons. In 1895, the partnership of Lawrence Wedgwood with his nephews, Cecil and Francis Hamilton, became incorporated as Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Ltd. Subsequently, the following overseas companies were formed: Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Inc., America (1919); Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Canada, Ltd. (1948); and Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Australia, Pty. (1955).

In 1940, Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Ltd. opened a new factory near Barlaston Village, Staffordshire, England. Operations were split between Barlaston and Etruria. In 1967, Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Ltd. registered as a public company, and the shares were offered on the London Stock Exchange. Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Ltd. continues as one of many ceramic manufacturers that are part of the Wedgwood Group (founded in 1966).
