Valentina Nicholaevna Sanina

Valentina Nicholaevna Sanina was born in Kiev in 1904. She began designing clothing in the 1920s, opening her own dressmaking business in New York in 1925. In 1928, she opened Valentina Gowns and began creating costumes for Broadway actors and Hollywood film stars. She used fine fabrics and incorporated Oriental details into many of her designs.
